According to a recent article from CNN, some health drinks aren’t really all they are hyped up to be. In 2009, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) claimed that 17 companies were using misleading nutritional information and very specific health claims. According to the FDA, many of these companies use buzzwords in attempt to make their product sound healthier than it actually is.
The grocery shelves are stocked with products that claim to be healthy, so it can be difficult for the average shopper to know what to look for. This doesn’t mean that all drinks with claims of health benefits are bad for you, just make sure to be cautious when reading the labels.
Cascade Ice flavored waters are a healthier alternative to soft drinks. We use sucralose, a sugar alternative, that has endured hundreds of tests and deemed safe as a sugar alternative. Our nutrition labels are also easy to read. Each bottle has only 2 calories per serving (with a little over 2 servings per bottle), and no sugar content, caffeine, sodium, gluten or carbs.
So feel good knowing you are abandoning your soft drink — most of which are filled with sugar and empty calories, and enjoy a Cascade Ice!

When it comes to physical well-being and health, being active is key. What you may not know is by choosing a healthy diet and exercising will actually help more than just your physical wellbeing. Living a whole, healthy lifestyle will benefit your state of mind, stress levels, self-esteem and more. According to the National Association of Health and Fitness, there are some beneficial tips and activities you and your colleagues can partake in to make sure you are healthy inside and out. In honor of National Employee Health and Fitness Day, we’re sharing the top tips:
- Healthy Moments – Healthy Moments are occasions of healthy eating, physical activity, or personal/environmental health. Try going for a walk; cooking a healthy meal; participating in an exercise class; quitting smoking; scheduling a health assessment and going to the doctor. Your body will love you for this!
- Form an exercise group or ask a co-worker – This could include planning a company run or walk in the local area; planting a community garden; creating a company or family fitness event; or even adopting a company-wide physical activity standard or policy.
- Promote a healthy lifestyle – Encourage your employees or co-workers to take the right steps towards a healthy lifestyle by providing them with promotional health and fitness tips.
Do you work for a company that promotes health and fitness? If so, we’d love to hear about it!

The Flavorful Life is featuring several “healthy living journey” stories from Cascade Ice fans around the country, where guest bloggers tell us their thoughts on how they face challenges and come up with new ideas to pursue better health and fitness lifestyles. The following is the latest update from Rebecca Warren of Ohio.
I don’t know about you, but the word “dieting” should be up there with those bad words that you were taught never to use growing up as a child. It’s a horrible word and makes me break out into a cold sweat just thinking about it! However, because it is life and something that I personally need to do, I do it. I’m not the girl who can eat whatever I want without gaining a pound. Sure, I can eat whatever I want, but I can assure you that I will gain a pound and then some more, and some more, and some more!
I’ve been a member of Weight Watchers for years. It has helped in many ways, but I will tell you the most helpful part of the weekly meetings isn’t being held accountable to the required weigh-in, but the helpful suggestions and ideas from the other members. The meeting that I attend has a new leader, and she has incorporated a portion of the meeting where we can bring products to share with the other members. Typically, the products are a low-point food or drink. It’s amazing how much food is out there in the grocery store that you frequent but you just don’t notice!
Sometimes, there is a hidden gem that no one knows about, such as my love for Cascade Ice. This was my show-and-tell item recently, and the soda drinkers were thrilled to hear about it! It’s the bubble in the drink that wins over your heart! Okay, okay – it’s the bubble, the taste and lack of calories all combined. It’s everything about it!
Since my New Years Resolution was to drink more water, Cascade Ice has helped me stay true to going in the right direction. I am a true addict of a particular diet soda and there is no denying it. Though I still love it, and I still drink it daily, I’ve been able to add some more variety into my day by drinking Cascade Ice during the day and in the evening.
Wanna know a secret? I may or may not have added a hint of extra flavored fun to a particular Mixed Berry 2-calorie drink over a weekend, and found that it is wonderful special occasion drink! Cheers to you!

Cascade Ice is proud to be part of this year’s Relay for Life events to benefit the American Cancer Society in Washington state.
Cascade Ice / Wired are sponsor of the America Cancer Society for the Relay for Life program. Click here for a schedule of Relay for Life events in the area. Cascade Ice will be on hand at each area event with product samples and to support the cause.
The American Cancer Society Relay For Life gives everyone in communities across the world a chance to celebrate the lives of people who have battled cancer, remember loved ones lost, and fight back against the disease. At Relay, teams of people camp out at a local high school, park, or fairground and take turns walking or running around a track or path.
According to the Relay for Life website, the program began in 1985 when Dr. Gordy Klatt, a colorectal surgeon in Tacoma, Washington, ran and walked around a track for 24 hours to raise money for the American Cancer Society. Since then, Relay has grown from a single man’s passion to fight cancer into the world’s largest movement to end the disease. Each year, more than 3.5 million people in 5,000 communities in the United States, along with additional communities in 20 other countries, gather to take part in this global phenomenon and raise much-needed funds and awareness to save lives from cancer. Thanks to Relay participants, the American Cancer Society continues to save lives
Hope to see you at the Washington Relay for Life events!
