Spring break is just around the corner – the time when youth (and many adults!) take a break to bask in the sunshine and welcome the spring season. But did you know that one of the most popular cocktails in the U.S. (the name we won’t put here! 🤭) was created in Florida during Spring Break in the 1980’s by one savvy bartender. He wanted a way to attract the Spring Breakers and thought it was a catchy name for a cocktail that would certainly get young people’s attention, and the legend lived on. But most people love it for the sweet and tangy taste!
If you’re looking to maintain a healthy diet where you can still indulge in cocktails without the guilt, or simply trying to keep your sugar and calorie content low, we have a great spin on the classic cocktail that is easy to whip up. All you need is a tall glass, ice, vodka, peach schnapps, orange juice, cranberry juice and of course – Cascade Ice Sparkling Water! You can reach for low-sugar or “zero sugar” brands of juice at the grocery store, or simply use regular. Once this skinny cocktail hits your lips, you’ll feel like you’re on the beach no matter where you are!

It’s National Hot Toddy Day, and there is nothing quite like this traditional cocktail to warm you up during the cold winter months. But if you’re trying to stick to new year’s health goals or even “Dry January”, we have a fun spin on the classic that will be sure to keep you feeling cozy by the fire over the next few months!
There are so many great things about a hot toddy. It’s naturally less sweet (and less sugar) than most cocktails, and it’s super easy to make. Believed to have been invented in the 1800’s in Europe, the hot toddy is always a hit in the cold winter months because it’s served warm like a tea or coffee. Traditionally, they’ve even been suggested as a good cough and cold remedy, as it’s made with honey and lemon. And it’s easy to omit the alcohol to make a mocktail or simple home remedy for when you’re not feeling your best.
To make our spin on the hot toddy cocktail, you’ll need whiskey, honey, lemon, and some Cascade Ice Sparkling Water in Lemonade. Fresh cinnamon is a nice touch, or you could even add in ginger or cloves which have shown to have medicinal properties. Read on for how to whip up your own low-calorie, low-sugar hot toddy!
Cascade Ice Toasty Hot Toddy
- ½ cup hot water
- 2 oz. whiskey
- ½ oz fresh squeezed lemon juice
- 1 tbsp. Honey
- 2 oz. Cascade Ice Sparkling Water in Lemonade
- Cinnamon stick, optional
Heat water on the stovetop or in a tea kettle and pour into a mug or glass of your choice – make sure it’s hot but not boiling. Mix in the whiskey, honey and lemon juice. Omit the whiskey if making a mocktail. Top carefully with the Cascade Ice to the top, and garnish with a lemon wedge and/or cinnamon stick if desired. Enjoy!

Hands down the best, most refreshing cocktail has to be the Moscow Mule. But lately people have put their own spin on the famous cocktail by swapping different liquors and ingredients or adding in different elements to make it fun and different. And that’s what we’ve done with our Cascade Ice Skinny Fiesta Mule! This flavorful, light cocktail is made with tequila, lime, ginger and of course – Cascade Ice USDA Organic Sparkling Water.
To keep this cocktail low in sugar and calories, we recommend finding real ginger syrup at your local store – it typically has all natural ingredients and lower amounts of sugar compared to ginger beer that is typically used in mule cocktails. The Cascade Ice will add the bubbles and fizz back in! Of course, if you’d like a mocktail, feel free to omit the liquor altogether from the recipe. Read on for how to whip up a fun, easy drink that won’t sabotage your health goals!
INGREDIENTS
2 oz Tequila blanco
1 oz Ginger syrup
½ oz Lime juice
3 oz Cascade Ice USDA Organic Sparkling Water in Ginger Lime
Ice
Lime wedges
DIRECTIONS
Add tequila, lime Juice, and ginger syrup to your favorite glass (or a traditional copper mug!) and gently stir together ingredients to combine. Fill glass with ice and top with Cascade Ice and garnish with lime wedges. Enjoy!
