by Cascade Ice on July 25, 2022

It’s a hot one out there! Looking for a new cocktail idea that won’t sabotage your health goals with added sugar and calories? Here at Cascade Ice Water, we love to put a new spin on classic cocktails so that you can enjoy Happy Hour without all the extras.

An old favorite is the Whiskey Sour – it’s a tasty drink that is notoriously tart and sweet. Our version has only 4 simple ingredients, which makes for the ultimate summer refreshment! Plus, as always, you can omit the alcohol to make a low-sugar mocktail.

If you can believe it, the Whiskey Sour has been consumed for centuries! It was a drink beloved by sailors, because of the risk for scurvy, which is caused in part by vitamin C deficiency. Because of this, citrus fruits were something used daily by sailors to keep them in good health. Also, whiskey can be kept at room temperature, so it was a favorite to have on board. However, it wasn’t until 1862 that the Whiskey Sour recipe was first officially recorded in “The Bartender’s Guide.” To make our lower-calorie and lower-sugar Cascade Ice version, simply gather our list of ingredients below and you’ll be sipping this refreshing concoction in no time!
